Last Friday I sent our application to Companies House.
Today, just 8 days later, I received our certificate declaring us a CIC (Community Interest Company) with a company number. This seems to be cause for celebration but as yet I'm not sure quite what it means, or how it will unfold. Maybe if the day arrives when it all comes clear that will be the day we fold since roaming is defined as 'moving about or travelling aimlessly or unsystematically, especially over a wide area'. In April 2007 I began a blog followed by a website that documented my PhD research practice. A new blog has become necessary to describe the process of setting up 'Roaming', a not-for-profit arts company through which I will explore, in collaboration with a number of people in different settings, an art practice that can deliberately exist beyond the nucleus of the mainstream art world. We are exploring the possibility that by dissenting from competitive approaches to arts practice we can discover peaceful means to interaction. Our focus is therefore on our working process more than our output.

"Taking time for the day-to-day reveals a quiet place within oneself where tiny glimmers of inspiration and wonder can emerge which, added one to another, become vital nourishment for the future of humanity."
