 It was a relatively uneventful day in Roaming's terms--there was a plumbing problem in the Breadline Building, and the plumber turned out to be exceptionally pleasant in addition to solving the problem promptly. Most of the Roamers worked quite steadily. There were lots of conversations--generating a thought-provoking suggestion that the group make a huge mural on the wall behind the bus station -- possibly about Cornish history. Long-term friends and more recent acquaintances stopped by to say hello, and we welcomed one complete newcomer.
Coincidentally the first opportunity for us to visit Tremenheere, after being generously granted 12 group visits, was the day after Belle was delivering a talk there about medicinal herbs and seed politics. So, we invited her to be our visiting artist for the day. We all enjoyed doing the things we like best, which included learning new things, discussion, eating, experiencing and making art, performing and being out in the fresh air… and we were blessed with sunshine! We had a gentle day today. Sarah made a grasshopper and a pig's head in origami - her first ever attempts. Ed finished his tiger and Phil completed his version of Munch's scream. Toby worked on a pastel drawing of a cove where he'd been snorkelling. Puzul discovered a new pen and used it for detail of boats in a seascape. Owl began another dinosaur painting to make them into a diptych and he bought a book for us about den building. Next week we will be visiting Tremenheere Sculpture gardens for a day with artist Belle Benfield who will be leading us in a workshop about medicinal herbs, pilgrimage and seed politics, |
